The World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated every year on April 26. This global campaign offers a unique opportunity to join with others around the globe to explore how IP contributes to a thriving music and arts scene and drives the technological innovation that helps human progress.
Nurbahar Deryeler, at KORDINAT IP Team, attended the seminar as a speaker on "World Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Day" at the Sefaköy Culture and Art Center of Küçükçekmece Municipality. Thanks to this particular event in line with the theme of the 2022 celebration, namely “IP for a Better Future: Young Innovators”, we were so glad to find an opportunity to explain how IP can support young inventors, creators and entrepreneurs in their quest to innovate for a better future and to build awareness of IP and its benefits among students, faculty and researchers.
We would like to thank all our teachers and students who participated in the seminar, specifically Mr. Atila Karataş, the Director of Nahit Menteşe Anatolian High School.
Notes:
1. In 2000, WIPO's member states designated April 26 – the day on which the WIPO Convention came into force in 1970 – as World IP Day with the aim of increasing general understanding of IP. Since then, World IP Day has offered a unique opportunity each year to join with others around the globe to consider how IP contributes to the flourishing of music and the arts and to driving the technological innovation that helps shape our world.
2. We are now looking forward to celebrating next World Intellectual Property Day of April 26, 2023 with a theme “Women and IP: Accelerating innovation and creativity”.
