The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TURKPATENT) has implemented a new practice to remind patent applicants and their patent attoneys of the deadlines for paying annual patent fees.
As of January 27, 2023, TURKPATENT will be sending them automatic email notifications one month before the deadline for the relevant transaction.
It is important to note that these email reminders are for information purposes only and do not replace official notifications. The calculation of deadlines will still be based on the porvisions under the Industrial Property Law No. 6769.
The purpose of this new practice is to prevent any potential loss of rights and ensure that patent holders comply with the payment deadlines in order to maintain their patent protection.
